On October 16th I did a demonstration for Evesham Arts Society. I chose to do a mixed media piece inspired by Pershore Water meadows as it is the next small town alomg the river . I was very impressed with their professional set up and they were very welcoming .
I have two paintings accepted for the Pastel Society Annual Exhibtion at Mall Galleries, London - very excited!
I am exhibiting together with four fellow artists, Mary Brittain, Erin Conel, Deborah Catesby, and Gemma Griffiths. We are exhibiting in Mary’s beautiful house and secluded courtyard gardens. Our very different work should provide a varied experience for visitors to the Granary’s delightful studio and courtyard gardens. Griffiths
On Friday my friends and I went out drawing on Castlemorton Common, at the bottom of the Malvern Hills.
We were expecting cold weather so I had multiple layers of thermal clothing on but in fact to our delight, the sun came out and we were so warm in the sunshine that we had to tKe our coats off. The recent wet weather had created running streams of water so we sat in the sunshine listening to the sound of fast running water from the stream in front of us and gazing at the changing colours of the Malvern Hills. Two exquisite pale primrose coloured Brimstone butterflies fluttered in front of us. We could hear the Chiff chaff for the first time this year and there were bees buzzing amongst the yellow gorse bushes. Spring is finally on its way !
On Friday I collected more beautifully framed paintings from the lovely Jason @Kestrel gallery and over the weekend I’ve been busy packing up all my paintings and getting ready for our exhibition at Weaver’s Gallery in Ledbury. Tomorrow is the day we put our exhibition up ! Exciting and nerve wracking!
The exhibition runs from Wednesday August 31st till Sunday September 11th.
I’m very busy sorting out work and organising work to be framed, and getting business cards and greetings cards printed.
